Door Sill Guards

These are really neat. You just don't get the proper effect unless you open up the doors at night. And then its time for another "kewwwwl!" from the crowd of awestruck passersby.

Which makes it doubly fortunate that people just look at them but don't touch, because these roughly $300 accessories (another hundred bucks to install at a Dodge dealer) consist of about two bucks worth of thin metal (aluminum, I believe), another buck's worth of plastic, a couple of light bulbs and -- I swear -- some inconsequential double stickyback tape to hold them on.

My drivers side unit lifted right up when I put a fingernail under it and tested the placement when I was at the dealership. The service manager made no bones about it: Dodge really screwed the pooch when it comes to what they give out to hold these things on. So far I have found that by standing on them with full weight on one foot, I can get them to solidly mount. For today, at least. I expect this will eventually give out and I will need to get some serious 3M double sticky tape from Home Depot and remount these things.

P.S.: Get the red ones and skip the white.

Hey, read this:
This web site is actively used as a software test platform for my ContentMonger Pro content management software.  As such you may see weird things happen as I work, bugfix and experiment.  Hopefully it won't inconvenience you but if it does, sorry about that.  Whatever you see going on is very likely to fix itself shortly as I am aware that traffic on this site is now fairly significant.
